Can someone help identify this chair? Also have ottoman. No markings or tags.

Search for any indication of a distinguishing mark from the producer.
Take a gander at the joints - Different sorts of joinery were utilized during various time-frames.
Search for saw marks - Straight saw checks by and large demonstrate that part was made before 1800.

it is a ikea without the wheels maybe sawnoff

I've only just read Mr Flintoffs response and it genuinely tickled me to tears, though. I'll remember to check for sawmarks from the 1800s the next time I'm trying to identify a tubular steel design.
