It's been over 5 years since I've posted an ID thread here, but I just acquired a Danish teak trestle dining table that has me stumped. It was part of a great auction lot, which I primarily bought for the 2 Finn Juhl BO-116 dining chairs (also 3 Moller 78 side chairs were a nice kicker).
The trestle table has a split table top that expands to fit three 12" (30cm) leaves. The base is almost all solid teak and does not disassemble. The table tops are lumbercore base with teak veneer, with a massive wedge profile edge banding of solid teak. Groove flat rails screw to the underside of tabletops to allow them to slide open for the leaves on top of the trestle base. I cannot find any type of markings on any of the table parts.
The design is similar to the Borge Mogensen trestle table for FDB, which was an interpretation of the traditional Shaker trestle table from the U.S. However the details and materials for this unknown table are completely different. The construction quality of the table, combined with a base that does not disassemble, makes it feel like a low-volume cabinetmaker piece that was sold in Denmark. A large amount of online searching has turned up nothing on this table. I'll soon do a detailed pass through the Grete Jalk 4 volumes of guild exhibitions to see if it pops up there, but did not see it during a quick glance.
Any leads for details that look familiar would be appreciated. Thanks.
