Hi,

Anyone recognize this armchair? It feels very well made but can't find one mark. Possibly Swedish? The place I visited had some other Swedish pieces that were new along with this.

Thank you all.

Possibly Brazilian design.

It does reminds me of the Sherrif but not as rugged or bad ass.

Is the garage the dawg haws for unidentified furniture?  I hope that's not the case, you should invite it in, enjoy it while it waits to be identified.

@minimoma I can see the resemblance between the sheriff chair, but it falls a bit short I think. The back rest reminds me of a Jalk chair but that’s not it either. I have a Sheriff chair for OCA and it’s splendid, heavy and chunky and definitely bad ass! It’s funny, it’s the one chair I have that I like but no one else seems to like!

I did not know that there are other variations of the Sheriff, I only have this version in my head.  These chairs do need a lot of breathing room.

The drawing from a furniture book from 1974 is how I remember the Sheriff.

That’s my fault, as mine is more frequently referred to as the Mole chair! It’s often advertised as the Sheriff chair but I’m not sure they are actually the same thing. I do know the style of mine was produced earlier.

@minimoma I saw that, thanks! It was also interesting to see that the Mole chair was added to the permanent collection in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. @minimalman apologies!

Hey all,

I had no idea this post got going. Been away for a bit. No worries on any hijacking. I'm so appreciative of any input and if this leads to further discussion on things, that's great! I'll dig over these posts and try to provide any more information I can.
