Hello everyone,

I recently acquired a sofa that reportedly spent about 30 years in the living room of a well-known opera singer. I was told it's a very expensive piece, but I haven't been able to identify the brand or get a clear idea of its current value. I'm reaching out to this community for any insights regarding its origin and worth. Here are the details I have:

  • Suspected Brand: The label says "Verbaal Arnhem," but I couldn't find any information on this brand during my research. If anyone has insights or suspects it might be from another designer, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

  • Sofa Details:

    • Style: 3-seater with elegant curves, clean lines, and a modern, minimalistic design.
    • Materials: Upholstered in black with beige, wavy-patterned cushions (photos attached).
    • Dimensions: Approximate dimensions are 200 cm in length, 77 cm in depth, and 78 cm in height.
    • Special Features: Slightly curved armrests, indicating a high-end or bespoke piece.
    • Additional Items: The sofa came with 7 cushion covers in different sizes:
      • 2 cushion covers (35 cm x 35 cm)
      • 5 cushion covers (45 cm x 45 cm)
  • Condition: The sofa is in very good condition, with only minor wear on the cushions.

  • Provenance: It was said to have been owned by a famous opera singer for 30 years, which could add historical or sentimental value, although I don't have documentation to verify this.

I'm based in Berlin and looking for any information regarding the brand, era, or designer, as well as an approximate value for this piece. Any suggestions on platforms or experts for a free or low-cost valuation would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve attached several photos for reference. Thank you in advance for your time and help!

@jeanga Hmm. How did you not find any info? Verbaal was a furniture shop in Arnheim, it closed in 2011. There's a link to a story right there when you google Verbaal Arnheim.
