Hello everyone

Im very curious about who design and made this pair of dining chairs. The only stamp underneath is "No 35", prob model 35. Can someone help me?

I can't say I'm any use off the bat, but the stamp reminds me of the stamps off the back of Aksel Kjersgaard manufactured furniture. Possibly just me seeing connections where there are none, but it's a thing.

They're very nice 🙂

That is a fairly common font on Danish piece. I don't believe that Aksel Kjersgaard ever produced chairs, so we can be certain this isn't his. But were one so inclined, the font of the stamp could be used to narrow the list of possible makers.

Kyle Barrett:

I thought that also, but after some research Asked Kjersgaard I can't find _any_ chairs made from that company.

Leif Ericson:

Yea Ive seen that type of font before but often the auction houses only write "Dansk m

I would be curious to see a photo of thebottom of the chairs. The backrest is veneered. How Is it constructed? Is it a bent secondary wood, or something like a birch plywood?

Also, I believe you can exclude any company that was part of the Danish Furnituremakers

The backrest appears to be laminated rosewood bending ply. The only thing that would have been more expensive would be carving them from solid rosewood.

I agree with Leif, the markings I have seen and have documented, don't match Sor

I have search in the whole "chair" section on furnitureindex.dk and got no results and that was something about 700ish results (including lounge chairs).

Is it just me or do you see some similarities with this chair made by Paul M. Volther?
