Hi all,
I've recently purchased a teak chest of drawers with no marks except for a stamp identifying the plywood bottoms of drawers as lauan. The graduated drawer size is similar to an Arne-Hovmand Olsen design but the drawer fronts are beveled rather than grooved. It's got chipboard under a decent teak veneer (and comes with the chips to prove it).
It's 33” wide x 17.5” deep x 41” high.
I'd love to know if you have any ideas!
This bedroom set, which looks to be the same design, was recently sold by a dealer in Montreal and listed as by "FM Mobler", but showed no marks or tags. I could not find any others like them attributed to "FM Mobler" (nor Feldballes Møbelfabrik), so I tend to doubt the attribution. I looked at a few of their other listings and noticed they are quite casual with their attributions. I am mainly posting this because it includes the other pieces from the same line that might help someone recognize them. I did some image searches but came up empty.
Thanks to both of you for the find-- I actually reached out to that seller to see if they had any photos of the marks behind the attribution; they said there had been stamps but did not have any photos of said stamps.
I've added another photo of the drawer front, which I hope gives a better sense of what's going on construction-wise. My thought is 60s mid market but I'm no expert.
