Hello everyone,
I recently acquired a vintage “eyeball”-style adjustable table lamp, likely from the 1960s or 1970s. Despite extensive research, I’ve been unable to confirm its designer or manufacturer and would love some help from this knowledgeable community.
Key Details:
Design: Spherical metal shade (125mm diameter) with 12 ventilation holes, a wide chrome band around the front, and a height-adjustable chrome stem with a black knurled adjuster.
Base: 125mm diameter, cream-painted top, chrome band around the circumference, with a toggle-style switch.
Height: Adjustable, with a total height of 370–372mm.
Weight: 1,020g.
Markings: Internal wiring has a “Kema Keur” marking, suggesting Dutch certification. However, similar lamps are often attributed to Italian manufacturers.
What I’ve Found:
The shorter, non-height-adjustable version matches Dutch Gepo designs, while similar adjustable versions are attributed to Italian makers (e.g., Stilnovo, Reggiani).
Could this be a variation, a mix of parts, or something else entirely?
I’d greatly appreciate any insights or guidance, as well as suggestions for catalogues or resources to consult. Thank you in advance for your time and expertise!
Warm regards,
Rob
