Hi all,
I recently purchased some very pretty chairs. They're a bit strange: mostly, they look like Tapiovaara's "Fanett" chairs, but a few details are off. Most notably, their base is not the expected plywood, but rather solid beech with a (curvy) teak veneer. And there is no bracing on the (screw-in) legs. That details makes them look a bit more like the Folke Palsson J77 chairs.
Fanetts were generally made in Sweden by Edsby, mostly in the 1950s, I believe. J77s were generally made in Denmark by FDB, from the 60s to the late 70s from what I understand.
These were made in Sweden. From the one partial tag that remains, it looks like they were made in 1971.
Does anyone know which company that tag belongs to? Anyone seen these chairs before? I picked them up as a set of 6: 4 of these Fanett/J77 hybrids, and 2 more direct Fanett impersonations.
