Hello, i only have this shot here from where i bought this little beauty.

Has anybody an idea who was the designer / manufatctor ?

It looks a bit early mid-century to me 30s to 50s?

Are you sure that is rosewood? It looks a lot like stained pine rotary cut veneer, precisely the kind used in construction/cabinetry plywood.

Hey Leif,

no i am not quite shure- if rotary cut veneer is 5mm in depth it may be possible but at least its not "graphic wood"? I thaught its massive frame is rosewood or if not i had a second chance for eucalyptus. Its doors are from two 5mm slices with 10mm pine wood in between and surrounded with this beautyful grained tangential cut 5 mm strength "veneer" sheets and the top piece is even and nice inlayed into its massive frame/legs? I would say it is light weight made instead of "from contruction plywood"...my second chance therefore was acacia.

So what do you think about the creme white bakelite hardware- what period and destination do you guess it belongs and do you think it was may be an early work of some later "famous" cabinet manufactor who maybe changed his monogram slightly later mid-century?
