I am going to go out limb here. I usually don't take chances like this with identifications BUT here goes:

I predict they are Lane Alta Vista Style No. 949-05, production date is 09/09/61.

I know I know. SWAG!

@retrolampguy--you have posted and asked for help before, so why waste my time with your asinine answer? If you have nothing to contribute, just don't respond. Thanks.

Sorry you're right.

Forgot to add: they are worth 40 bucks less that what you paid!

@retrolampguy---Not sure why you are trolling this site. I am simply asking for help, which you are not supplying. This is my first posting, and I certainly hope you are not representative of the type of responses that are normally received here. Wouldn't it be unfortunate if other readers who frequent this site went to your listings and gave you similar treatment...not that I'm encouraging such behavior, of course.

WesTxStoner, please excuse the sarcastic responses so far, but Lane products just are not within the typical scope of this site.

While there are a couple Lane lines (McCobb's Delineator, and a couple of Paul Evans designed lines) that might fit the typical discussion here, you are probably not going to find a lot of info on the more high-volume production lines like Acclaim, or even Tuxedo, the focus of your question. I certainly do not speak for eveyone, but based on my experience here, you just are not likely to get an out pouring of help on this type of American furniture.

There are a lot of nice, helpful individuals here, despite Retrolamp's needling. You just need to understand that your topic is probably better handled by another forum. I know there are lots of Facebook forums that deal specifically with Lane, Thomasville, Broyhill, Heywood-Wakefield, Bsssett, and many of the other high-production American producers from the 60s and 70s

Good Luck!.

Why welcome to the forum WesTxstoner!

Admittedly you now know a bit more about your Lane tables, this fabulous forum, and more. Retrolampguys responses made me laugh...and hopefully you will take it accordingly, too.

So,

~figure out how to post a picture.

~post with- in all forum guidelines.

~and understand that retrolampguy is a valued member of this forum, and a cool person.

Plus, I like my pants today.

My best,

Aunt Mark

ps You are a prize, Zephyr.

(EDITED TO ADD AN ODD NOTE): I had a relative who for years had a home address of 949 Alta Vista Lane, in a town called Tuxedo. I wonder (and I think that she was..) if she were born in Sept of 1961? I wonder if you are my cousin? I wonder? She did have an hourglass figure...but the clock was striking midnight.

Ironically, I believe that retrolampguy is being quite helpful in trying to save you from the trouble of posting photos.

One thing that I suspect trips people up here when they try to post photos:

There's that button that says "CHOOSE PHOTOS". Click on this and find the photos on your device that you want to post. Easy enough, right?

But if you are posting more than one photo, you must select them all at once and then hit UPLOAD...

...OR select them individually and hit UPLOAD for EACH.

If you select them individually and only hit UPLOAD once at the end (which kind of makes sense to do), only the last selection will upload.

I disagree with Zephyr, by the way---there have been discussions of American furniture brands here. Not to the extent that Scandinavian or high end American design is talked about, but certainly as much as the equivalent from Canada, UK, Australia, etc. But you really need photos to illustrate whatever it is that you're asking. Hopefully you'll get that figured out. And do review the Basic Rules for posting, which appear just below the comment field, in case you are hoping that someone will tell you what your pieces are worth.

Well ok.

But back to my pants today. Boats, I think.

Well ok,

Aunt Mark

Hey, I didn't say I was speaking for everybody, just for myself.

Like I said, there are a lot of nice people on this forum, and it would not surprise me at all if someone does help out here. I just didn't want them to think we were all ignoring their question, and that everyone is as snarky as Retrolamp, although I did find his posts pretty amusing. Look, you gotta admit that most of us here are not chomping on the bit to talk about Lane furniture.

Pictures are certainly necessary.....

.... and full disclosure, I detest Lane, and the trash they have scattered all over the Furniture landscape. It is an entirely irrational hatred, as most are, but it keeps me warm at night, and therefore I will continue on with it.....

although I cannot deny that I kind of like these end-table/night stands from Lane, were the knobs the same and the veneer not all chipped .... https://www.wright20.com/auctions/2017/08/mass-modern-day-2/421?search=lane

I have a thing for pilot schooners.

Lane, not so much. Though I don't hate the Acclaim line for what it is, I'd feel better about it if it weren't so overrated and overpriced. And I agree with RLG so far as value. If you've acquired anything from Lane in the past 20 years and actually paid for it, don't be discouraged. Try to consider it a learning experience.

I appreciate the appreciation of my humor

What grinds my gears is the fact that the west Texas stoner guy has all the info he needs already.

he really just wants an appraisal and hoping for a back door sale, thinking he has some cool stuff when he really has crapola.

One of the main reasons I love DA is because of the no appraisal policy.

Can you imagine if appraisals were allowed. Traffic would shoot up by probably 500% but the breakdown would be

90% How much is this POS thing i just got at Goodwill

5% Please identify this POS thing i just got at Goodwill

5% Photos of Mark's pants

Just like the MCM Facebook groups (except the aforementioned pants pics)

In fact that's EXACTLY where the Texas pothead should post. It's right up his alley.

I've made 5 Lane purchases during my collecting years:

Round Acclaim lamp table: $25

Perception side dining chair: $20, although that was more of a pity purchase from a nice antiques dealer in Upper Michigan

Acclaim dining table with 4 dining chairs: $100

side table with cane shelf: $10

Round coffee table with cane shelf: $1

With the exception of the pity purchase, the other 4 sold fairly quickly with ROIs from 700% up to 5900% (guess which one that was). Lane's not so bad. It's a gateway drug to more hard core stuff.
