I picked this up last week and would like to confirm whether or not it's an original. Looks legit. Any ideas?
Thanks minimoma. Yea I feel pretty good about it not being a reproduction because of the age that it shows, but I am unfamiliar with the markings on this one so I haven’t checked. I’d actually like to sell it to a reputable dealer if I can verify it, I found it while hunting recently.
swellcurate555 – Very cool find. If this is still for sale, I am very interested in it. You can email me at teakhound@gmail.com.
Thanks!
minimoma - Any idea about the difference in feet on some of these early chairs? I've noticed this one and some others have wooden feet, whereas others look like much slimmer black disks.
Those wood feet I have seen on period Getama which looks like what you have. I am sure others here have a more extensive background on this chair, this is outside my social class. I have seen early Getama versions (authenticated & with provenance) fetch up to more than what I paid for my 100 year old fixer upper house.
PP Mobler looks like is the current producer, have you tried them, maybe they could also be of help?
