Hello

I bought this Fristho Franeker dining table on the weekend. I have never seen anything by Fristho in Canada before. Is anyone able to comment on who the designer might be?

I bought it from the original owner who said they purchased it in 1963.

It is an elegant table.

I have found my answer. For anyone interested it is William Watting for Fristho 1965.

I had never heard of this designer or company before but was on the look out for a table for my cottage and came across it online.

Did you find a marked table with William Watting's name under it?

I have seen Watting's name associated with Fristho, but I am not sure how much of the stuff was his design.

i agree with Leif. Watting made one table for Fristho the 126W and this one is quite different

i will look for you

i rather think it is from the fristho design team

may be marten franckema

do you have a better picture of the stamp so i can read the top line

best regards maarten

I have since found 3 other examples of it and spoke to one of the dealers in Holland. He said he referenced the Fristho catalogue that has a shorter version without extensions in the catalogue.

Here are some other links

I have nothing else to go on at this point so will think of it as a Fristho table.

this is the watting table for fristho

https://www.vntg.com/49133/126w-dining-table-from-the-fifties-by-william...

a picture out off the book on fristho has to many MB's but ii is the same there is a larger and smaller one

it has however the flapping/folding leaves

your table could be fristho i cant find it in the book however

and attribution by dealers are doubtfull in my view i rather like independent sources

Yes I agree with you about the dealers and attribution.

Here are a couple of pictures again. Definitely a Fristho stamp.

I am not hung up on the designer. The table is very similar to the smaller one you sent a photo of especially the wood grain.

The stamps says:

Top line: Made in Holland

Second line: Fristho

Third line: Franecker

Sorry it is not a very good photo
