You would certainly know better than I would! But don't you find it odd that there are multiple seemingly high-quality knockoffs recently for sale on the vintage market? I'd be curious to know how close dimensions are and to see the interior fitting of @edmccoll's cabinet as compared to Fristho.
@tktoo there is a certain oddnes It is alos odd thye are found in the UK not in holland I dont have a answer I do know the glatzel/frisho is known for its aluminium frame (the low board and side board) and no others were made by him/fritsho I know the fristho book is very well reseached and is a sound source.
I tried to find the wooden frame on other sideboards not succesful
may be some one used the glatzel a an inspiration, give the low numbers produced a factory fake seems highly unlikely
Thank you for response, much appreciated. My intent was not to distract from @edmccoll's original post and I am not personally familiar with these sideboards. I did find it curious, however, that there are a number of blatant copies of Glatzel's design, apparently contemporary, that ended up on the European vintage furniture market so many decades hence.
I suppose a smaller cabinet shop somewhere producing a limited run might be possible, but unlikely, as that would seem like a losing business venture when one considers the trouble and expense involved compared to potential profit margins and/or legal difficulties. Unless, perhaps, they were produced outside of Europe or North America.
