Helping to ID this for someone on another forum.  Owner says it was purchased in early 60's in Liverpool area.  Thinks it to be teak and has unusual leaf storage  design where the one 45cm leaf slides into supports under the top as shown in the second photo.  Dimensions are 129cm by 86cm without leaf.  With the edge design, and purchase history, I'm assuming it's likely a British maker,  but I haven't been able to find anything with this type of leaf storage design.  Any ideas? @lexi ?

@mark737. I am stumped. Wouldn't know where to start.....those legs  are not common on  British tables.

Anyways, posting an image from a thread years ago that I stumbled on while looking for info on HNJ/Torring.

A list of better known British manufacturers but there are probably more.

I vaguely remember someone on the Forum mentioning  a store in Chester (??) which was the go to place, in that part of the UK, for furniture.

In the meantime I will keep looking.

@lexi  Thanks for the list, that will be handy for future searches.  I figured this would be a fairly easy one with such an unusual leaf storage design.  I guess they didn't sell too many.

It's the legs I find more distinctive, they're certainly very conically turned, almost like spikes.

The bevelled edge makes me think maybe it's not mid century and the dowels in picture two make me think it could be a 30s-40s cabinet-maker piece. Fairly common in the UK. I have a friend who may be helpful with British design, I'll ask him.

Also... @mark737  What's the other forum out of interest?

@kyle-barrett  Thanks for looking into it and asking around.  The other forum is antiquers.com.  I occasionally pick up a pre-modern piece and there are experts on there that know a lot about the older stuff.   I try to give back by helping out with questions about the modern pieces.
