I’ve picked these up for an absolute steal (£60 for 6!!) they’re gorgeous and though need a bit of work, I feel very smug.

They have Erik Buch vibes but I can’t see any marks yet, maybe more will come when upholstering happens. Google lens is giving me mixed results and none from any sites that look trustworthy.

please let me know your thoughts!

@elisquidge Please add some pics to your post. They must not be bigger than 2 mb to upload. And the man's name is Erik Buch. Never mind.

Thanks for your comment (even the inferred eye roll at the end…!)

it didn’t alert me that my picture hadn’t uploaded.

Hope you have some insight - these are gorgeous and we’re keeping them regardless, was just interested.

@elisquidge Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as flippant. I'll have a look at it, and hopefully some other colleagues here will too. At first glance, I would say that it is at least not a production from the heyday of Danish Modern. No Erik Buch design - at most inspired by. The upholstery with the buttons is rather atypical. It's possible that it's a Danish production from the 70s or 80s, but I don't have an overview of that period.

I don't believe this chair was designed by Erik Buch. The tufting buttons feel more British to me than Danish. I also don't quite understand the purposes of the buttons here. Traditionally they were used to help hold built up internal padding in place (e.g. horsehair, cotton/wool batting, muslin). But they would be more decorative for foam padded chairs.
