Hi @awwthats2bad.
I’d love to see the table. Can you post a photo please ? I haven’t seen one of his tables anywhere online.
Can I ask where you bought it?
@awwthats2bad You have to re-size your photos to be under 2mb. On an iphone you can do this by emailing them to yourself and it will give you size options (S,M,L,Actual). Large or medium should be under 2mb.
Fantastic, thank you. It’s beautiful.
I’ll show it to mum and see if she can remember anything interesting about it.
Dad passed away last July so obviously can’t ask him. If you ever want to sell it would you please give me first option to buy it??

Hi all,
Just thought I’d give you an update about my dad and the roll top desk.
My dad unexpectedly passed away in July last year but I did get to ask him about the desk before he died.
He said he did not make it and that he had never made roll top desks. And he had no idea how his name got associated with it.
I can tell you that he was really surprised and very proud that his name had been mentioned in a forum such as this.
And especially that his furniture, after all these years ,was still being appreciated.
If any of you find a piece that is marked with Fixo Træ Møbler , like @awwthats2bad I would really appreciate it if you could contact me.
I’m still collecting his pieces.
Sorry to be a bother @awwthats2bad but would you tell me where you live? Not your address of course , just which country. If you’re not in Denmark I’d love to tell mum that Dads furniture is out there roaming the world.
Thanks so much for asking about the roll top desk. I still have some regret about selling it but it was purchased for a young architect student at Tulare University here in New Orleans by his uncle as a Christmas gift. I think he'll appreciate it's design & beauty.
As for me it was found treasure someone was throwing out, so free & I admired it. So odd when the desk is searched online that your father's name is associated with it on several high end furniture sites, 1st dibs & Charish both. Again thanks for asking about it.
Happy Mardi Gras, it's carnival time here!
@ostergaard My condolences to you and your family on your father's passing. Thank you for asking him about the Swedish desks and how his name became associated with them. It's always good to confirm a misattribution, but at this point it may have spread too far and wide to ever be corrected. I suppose it could be taken as a compliment that sellers prefer the name Egon Ostergaard to Bröderna Gustafssons. I have set up alerts on auction and listing sites for anything with the Fixo Træ (also Fixotra and Fixotrae) names and will let you know if anything comes up for sale in the US. And if there's ever anything in Texas or California, I'd be happy to help facilitate purchase and shipping to you.
