Hi Folks,

I have been offered a set of early Wegner wishbone chairs. Unfortunately I cannot visit to see or touch them so thought I would ask the group their thoughts.

They have been rewoven in the 1970s in Italy, but retain the carpenter stamp and pencil initials of the weaver on each chair.

What is throwing me is the finish of the chairs.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks Ed.

I don’t know what ‘early’ means to you but I wouldn’t call these early.

Thanks for the reply Leif, the seller mentioned that they were from the late 60's. They just seem newer to me.

Best

I can’t see clearly on the picture but the embossed signature stands for initials of the carpenter that made the chair and year of production. Not sure if it is 68 or 69 but late 1960s indeed.
