@aaronny, Of course you're right. At the moment, me bony arse is unapologetically perched upon a so declasse Equa II, also ugly as sin. However, when I'm actually in/on it, I don't see it! We're lucky to have my home office conveniently tucked away so any (lately rare) guests won't have to, either.
PACC classy? Hmmm ...okay, maybe, but only because you said so. I require tilt, and seat/arm height adjustment capability in a task chair, or functionality over form as it were. Perhaps it's just me?
@tktoo2 I'll freely admit I'm more interested in form than function in this instance haha - I'll only be using it as a desk chair for a couple of hours at a time usually so as long as it's not distractingly uncomfortable after a short time that shouldn't be an issue. I'm also fortunate enough to still be in my 20s and in possession of a (relatively) ache-free back so I guess I have the luxury of being able to compromise on comfort more than most 😛
Not totally sure I'd count a PACC as classy either, but it's certainly not ugly - just a little odd. My taste tends to be fairly minimal but with slightly oddball/kitsch touches to add a splash of interest/colour. I'm also eyeing a Huo-Tu Huang/Huangslite toucan desk lamp at the moment and waiting on getting my Peter Schmidt Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) print back from being re-framed if that helps you get more of a handle on my tastes.
Unfortunately my bedroom/office is my only private space in a shared house, so having an outright ugly chair just *out* would grate on me pretty quickly haha. That's another thing that drew me to the PACC, actually - it can serve as both a short-term desk chair and armchair while being more compact than most forms of the latter so less of my (limited) space is taken up with seating.
