Does anyone know the designer?

Tricky. K.S. is short for Korup. Kai Kristiansen did quite a few designs for them and this one kinda looks like his. But then again this chair must have been made in the 70s and this period is somewhat foggy. The chair might be KK, it also might be an inhouse design derived from an older KK chair. I‘ve never seen a Korup catalog, so I cannot be more precise. Does the chair have a makers mark?

Hi Herringbone, thought about KK since the chair is so similar to a few of his models, but could not find the same online.

It just has Korup Stolefabric mark - stamp says KS, made in Denmark.

Kai Kristiansen is likely, but it remains speculation unless you find documentation. Which will be difficult. But honestly I don't know if the information would really change anything here. The chair itself is - apart from his subjective qualities - not really a milestone in the development of Danish furniture. How would it be? It was probably made in the late 60s, early 70s which was a period of decline and downfall for anything teak in Denmark. We know that it is was made by Korup which is a great information to have. But Korup was one of many minor league players which had flodded the marked in the years prior and struggled now. And the fact that -  unlike other Korup chairs - this special model hardly ever surfaces on the vintage market, doesn't make it rare or mysterious. It just is a hint that this chair probably belonged to Korups last resort at a time when nobody cared anymore. They tried to make a cheaper version of a more refined model from earlier days. That is why I think it doesn't really matter in the end, if it was drawn by Kai Kristiansen or some Erik Magnussen nobody has ever heard of.
