Hi,

Sorry to ask.... but does anyone recognise this chair, it’s quite wide. Solid teak, with stained oak corner blocks. Thanks for all your help.

Cheers,

Looks like a blatant and not very elaborated round chair knock off.

Do you mean the “chair” by wegner? I reckon it looks more like a  illum Wikkelso design for N. Eilersen? Though clearly it’s neither, which is why I’m asking if anyone can identify it. Thanks.

Yeah, it kinda looks like an Illum Wikkelsoe design for Eilersen. And it kinda looks like the troja chair from Kai Kristiansen. And it kinda looks like the Model 113 from Nanna Ditzel. And it kinda looks like that nameless chair, that Erik Kolling Andersen drew for Peder Pedersen. And it also looks like a desk chair designed by Arne Wahl Iversen. And all those chairs kinda look like Wegners round chair (which of course looks like other chairs from earlier on but that is anonther story) - as does your chair. But your chair apparently is neither of the afore mentioned. That is why I think it could be hard to find a maker. The round chair was hugely popular in the '50s but too expensive for the average customer. That is why there are innumerable copys and lookalikes on the market, some of them more distinctive and elaborate, some of them less. If I take a look at the joints in the backrest, the shape of the armrests and the cornerblocks, I come to think that your chair belongs to the latter group. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice chair.
