Hi

I came across what seems like a Borge Mogensen trestle table for sale. Problem is there isn't the typical made in Denmark stamp on it. Also you can see on the ends of the table that the tabletop slats are put together with some kind of tongue and groove. Something I haven't been able to find on any other Borge Mogensen C18 table online. The wood is also lighter than normal. Is this just a really good copy?

Best

Brian

I am curious how it is that the solid wood top can expand and contract? Are the holes at the top of the trestle a lot wider than the shank of the screw?

I didn't notice. I did however note that at the ends of the table top you can see that there is some kind of splitting happening between the slats of the tabletop towards the ends. Other tables have a piece that runs around the entire top instead.

Other tables are not solid wood. They are veneer over a dimensionally stable substrate, probably particleboard with edge banding all the way around.
