Hello
Thanks to all posting to this site, I have been going thru many pages of interesting history and soaking it in.
Here's a chair that i cannot find reference of. 12 ply shell (10 light colour wood core with darker wood on top and bottom. Hand brazed hollow tube structure with grey leg end caps. Veneer are two piece mirrored along center line. Hub under chair has made in denmark stamp and shell has G255528C207 scribed in wood near hub. Unless thats someones driving licence number.
If someone has seen something like this before, I would like to search some more if manufacturer is still active. Glad to post more pictures if it can help and if people just want to see more of this chair. I got these for home use, maybe not a good idea ?
cheers
These chairs, without armrests, sometimes pop out here, (rather unsurprisingly) attributed to Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen and they usually come with a model number: 3204.
Oddly enough, if you google Arne Jacobsen 3204, you'll find plenty of examples but all the pages you'll find are in french... .It seems it all started when an auction house (Tajan) came out with this attribution in 2009.
Obviously, it is a bogus attribution and these chairs are probably nothing more than generic chairs, heavily influenced by the serie 7 but I am still very curious about them...
Thanks DrPoulet !
Mmmm yes... I see, 3204 you say. Same hub. I have sturdy bad restoration, love the flexible backrest, arm rests are useless some might say : ) After reading some more, I will try sending info request to find FritzHansen ? My grandfathers name that. Maybe Fritz can help !?! And I must take other pictures of sister chair next camping weekend. Shell not quite the same and diffrnt shape armrest'n'number, same metal welding and ply. I will return to post more jpegs asap.
merci buckets to all
