Hello!
I bought this sofa this week. There is a lounge chair/ottoman as well. I have done some research and am trying to determine if this is a Lafer piece. I was told by original owner that it was purchased at a specialty mid century furniture store in the mid seventies.
As first I thought it was 'in the style of' but there are a lot of interesting and persnickety details that I have found on other lafer pieces.
The tufting pattern is unique and a little more complex than you would expect on a repo...the tufting is done with little loops of leather functioning like a button ...again more of a sign of quality in detailing than a repo would have.
This listing

on 1st dibs shows a very similar tufting pattern as well as the little leather loops similar to my sofa.
The leather is very good/thick...not sure what the wood is...doing a little research on jacaranda wood?
Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts/ experiences on/with Lafer pieces,
For those not familiar with the Brazilian MCM here is a profile done in dwell magazine last year on Lafer...

(my couch frame and straps are quite similar to the sofa seen in the 7th picture featured in the Dwell profile).
thanks for your time
