Wonder if some American MCM experts would be able to ID this set. Not sure about the wood; could be cherry.

@amber5  These are from Johnson Furniture's "American Translation" collection designed by their head of design Lorenzo "Renzo" Rutili and made from 1946-56.  The table is model R38 and the chairs are R34 and R34 1/2  .  The catalog says they are in "maple with beautifully figured textured cherry veneer".  Just guessing but the "248" could be the date of manufacture - Feb 1948.

@mark737 do you know if these prices in the catalog are retail or wholesale?

@amber5  There's this on page 50, which I would take to mean the prices shown are retail and dealers would pay 50%.  So, the table would have been $160 retail.  Adjusted for inflation from 1951, that would be $1,618 today.

I’m not having any luck dating this table or finding the manufacturer. It is solid wood, but I’m not sure what type. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
