Agreed SDR, I think on the d and lcms' figure looks lovely, but it can look a bit busy on a dynamic form. it would be nice to see other species being used in a bookmatch, maybe in special editions, or even some of the new reconstituted veneers on the lcws'.
This is blackheart sassafras, a Tasmanian species, swoon.

It's become quite an interesting discussion, but to bring it back to the original question: with ash, light ash, white ash etc, are they different wood types altogether, or is it just a matter or finish, stain or dye?
