Can someone help me identifying this wood type?

Sorry for the bad pictures... The wood looks much darker than teak, almost like rosewood but the wood grain looks more like teak. Afromosia maybe ?

Many thanks for your help!

Afrormosia it is. Which piece is this? I like Afrormosia a lot and am always curious what pieces were executed in it. There are actually quite a large number of really well known and valuable designs executed in it, or using a substantial amount of it.

Thank you Leif for your help! I have read about afrormosia here but had no idea how it is supposed to look like exactly.
The piece is a planter made by Brdr. Dalsgaard that cdsilva helped me id here:

Do you know something about them? I haven't been able to find much on the internet.

Not really. The design is well represented in catalogs from the early 60s. Apparently they are afrormosia, I love the nice dark color that it has become.
I mean what else are you hoping to find out?

Actually I was hoping to find a bit more about the furnituremaker. I am always curious about the stories behind my vintage stuff and I am a little frustrated with the fact that apart from this planter, the only Brdr. Dalsgaard piece I have been able to find is that teatrolley:

Any info would be greatly appreciated, really.

Find the Brothers Dalsgaard or their children in Brørup. They have all the answers.

I finally managed to find a contact after 2 month (I don't give up that easily indeed).
I could not find any Dalsgaard in Brorup in the phone directory so I turned to Vejen municipality. After researching their archives, they just came back at me with a name and adress.
A letter to Mr Dalsgaard is leaving today, let's see what will happen. I will keep you informed if I manage to get some useful information.
