I just bought a vintage (pre-1971) Eames 670/671 lounge chair and ottoman. The inside of the rosewood shells has the number 504 stamped on them. See the attached pictures. Can anyone tell me what they represent?
Any help would be appreciated.
Panels were individually stamped to ID and keep them together at the factory. Face veneers were sequentially matched on each set. All of your panels should bear the same number.
A few years late to this chat but only place i've found comments on the ID stamps. Can the ID stamps inside the shells be used to date when the chair was produced?
