Hello to everyone
As you will soon notice english is not my mother language since I am from Switzerland. However I am very pleased to be part of this forum - furniture is a (growing) passion for me.
In this case I wanted to discuss about the famous Wassily Chair / B3 of Marcel Breuer. We all know the signs to detect a knock off and what to look for. No caps, good leather etc. We all know the history of the chair, from Thonet to Gavina and Knoll...
But how important is the colour of the screws? I searched but didn't find a proper answer. In the ideal case you got welded tube endings, thick leather and black screws. But are chromed or just metal grey screws a definite sign of a knock off? Or is there any original whit chromed screws? I know there are some italian company's who sold chairs like that, for example fasem ( goo italian manufacurer - still exists but the wassily is out of production).
I am intrested in this in general.
Does anyone have an answer for me?
Thank you very much.
