Hi all, I'm going to look at these and just want to know what you all think. The seller says they're from 1998. I've never had these before so I'm not sure!

Reamie,
"I just want to know what you all think".
I think you are so lazy that you can not enter the key words: Vitra Eames Soft Pad chair and view the results. You must be shitting me.
I also think you should try some initiative.

Niceguy(hmmmmmm) I have searched extensively and not found too many pictures of the label. Those I have found look a bit different than the one above. Also, I felt that as there are some people on here who know a lot about Eames products they may be able to give some insight, perhaps without bad language and bad attitude. Have you ever heard the saying "If you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all"? It's a basic manners dictate my mother taught me early in life.

Reamie,
I am pleased your mother instilled manners in you, it is unfortunate that you were absent for the lesson of doing your own homework and taking pride in a job well done. It would seem common sense was also not a part of your education...contact Vitra for label confirmation.
You have given several excuses for your failure. Try finding a reason to succeed on your own.

So these are the only examples I can find of the fabric label. Both are different from the one above. There's no trademark on the one I'm going to see tomorrow, which has me worried. Anyone own a vitra soft pad with a label similar to the one above?

If a thing is produced for a length of time there will be small variances, perfect consistency is impossible and designs or aspects of them are adjusted for the contemporary situation.
or maybe the chair was like 3d printed or something in a sweatshop by the Amazonn overlordz
I guess it would be only mildly surprising to see these chairs counterfeited down to even the "authorized original" tag, like handbags, guitars, etc.
Often when I see a "real" Whatever Brand handbag, it looks like all the other handbags, it has no meaning, except as a showcase of the label, which is often tacky, whether real or not. It would be nice to think that true quality will speak for itself, but truth is subjective in the marketplace.
Maybe soon the "real thing" will have one of those stupid smartcode things imbedded in it-
Then you could scan your chair with your "device" to see if it was "real", scan yourself to see if you were really here, and post the "experience" on "social media", paying sacrifice to the Big G in the sky
we probably won't think of this stuff much anymore once the earth is consumed by the sun
