Table ID anyone?

Looking for the forum to help me ID the designer or manufacturer of this little pedestal table.

I'm thinking about buying it, but it's not exactly cheap (for me at least). However, it sure looks like it has alot of potential. Makes me think of Wormley/Dunbar, but I know it probably isn't.

Anyone know? Yes? No?

The metal sction looks cast at first glance but I'm not sure now, really lovely piece.

but I have the same table, however it's also a lamp. The central pole extends through the table top all the way up to a light socket, one of those while glass diffusers and of course a shade.
When I first found it, I thought it looked Italian, with the sexy lines and that brass detail. But one look at the construction and I changed my mind. If I had to guess, I'd say it's American, but I'll go over ours again and look carefully for any marks or other clues.
