I've seen similar sofas...
I've seen similar sofas attributed to Risom, either via Risom Design or Knoll, but do not know Risom sofas well enough on my own to positively ID from your photos. I'll check with my (newly-acquired) Risom catalog at home, but that would only cover items available for sale from Rison Design in 1955.

Here are some images from the catalog. Your sofa appears to be very similar to the 1955 U-150 model. Not sure if this model was refined in subsequent years. Unfortunately, there is no rear photo provided of the U-150, so I included one of the armless U-250. The differences I see are:
1) different profiles for rear wood members.
2) exposed wood fasteners in your sofa
3) the seating upholstery (although yours may not be original)
Dimensions are provided in the drawing, so you could always check against that.

Thanks for posting the catalog cdsilva... I actually have a Risom U150 Sofa (it's fantastic!). This new one I acquired is so similar in design and came from a collection that was high end stuff so I thought it might also be Risom rather than a copy or knock-off. The quality is very good, and I've seen one other photo attributing this design (with the same joinery on the legs/back) to Risom. Was just hoping to find a little more concrete evidence... Thanks so much for the help!

Thanks Mario! Mine also has the rubber straps. And the frame and joinery are almost identical. I've never heard of Kasparian. Any idea of rough value of a sofa of his if I put some money into it to restore it? Thanks for your insights!

I dont believe valuations are viewed well on this forum, but it compares to a moderate Wormley sofa. Your sofa is great looking and fairly rare. I sold mine to a Chicago dealer who found documentation and power priced it.

At the time it wasnt for sale and my well fed frame enjoyed it for some time but i relented to the girlfriends need for comfort and moved it along.

I recently purchased a vintage 150 Risom sofa in a dk green nagahyde fabric. I am trying to find out if the fabric is original. cdsilva - does your catalog list fabric choices at all?
