It looks like it could be a DIY thing made out of spare parts. Is that electrical tape?

Thanks, the lamp is...
Thanks, the shade is plastic/acrylic but I can't find any makers mark. Interesting you think could be Canadian as the closest I could find was Italian

Well, because this lamp clear...
Well, because this lamp clearly draws some level of inspiration from the original Arco, which is Italian, I think it would be likely that it might be described as Italian generically and for better financial performance. This would be the analog of the phenomenon whereby any random piece of modernist teak furniture easily acquires the adjective Danish.

we determine A WHILE AGO that some company, Castiglionni I think (or somesuch), made many of these plastic shaded arc lamps? There seem to be a ton of variants.

I like it.
This lamp requires more room behind the base than the Arco, but I find the circular shape more pleasing. And the connection between the lower and upper supports (assuming that those black bands AREN'T electrical tape) is honest and not unattractive.
Is there a channel in the lower support for the cord, so it can exit at the base rather than at the support connection point?

more info
The black supports are plastic and yes the cord exits at the support connection point as opposed to the base.
This link is a clearer image of a similar lamp.

I'm Canadian...
I've seen a few of these over the years with the same odd base . It just always "felt" Canadian to me...still does...
It does remind me of the Guzzini arc lamps. A stretch...maybe an Italian copy?

I will say the base on mine...
I will say the base on mine is different than the one pictured. If I can, I will post a photo.
