Pair of armchairs. Homemade or production chairs??

I have these pair of compass-captains armchairs. Not that it matters but they came out of a very expensive home in an elite neighborhood. There are no markings. They are very well made but almost look primitive or handmade. You can see the tool marks on the wood and can notice slight unevenness throughout the chair. I took some close up pictures of the legs, arms and strechers to show.

Does anyone know if these are a know production chair or possibly someone's wood shop project? They are with out question older chairs.

Certainly production. And not of particularly good quality. Looks American to my eye. Typical of '70's North Carolina high-volume producers by the joinery and mix of woods.
Finish and condition appear original, though! And I love the floor in your kitchen, too, BTW!

Thanks tktoo. These chairs just have an unusual look. They have an almost frail look to them but are quite strong and sturdy.
And we love the floors. They are actually ceramic tile. 4 ft planks. Everyone who comes in our house thinks they are real wood. Thanks again!
