Does anyone recognize the base on this table? It's obviously inspired by the Kagan model 412, but the base is very, very wrong. It came from an estate sale and supposedly dates from their very first furniture purchase in the 1960s, but that's all I know. I like it regardless of what it is, but I'd really like to know.

Thank you for the feedback! Should there be a maker's mark on the table somewhere? I've had some Pearsall furniture before, but the wood on this base looked unfamiliar so I was worried it was a repro. It's really beautiful in person, but it almost looks too good to be real. The base is in great shape and so is the glass.

Pearsall did use a lot of good-looking solid walnut in his furniture. I will say that about him.
