Need help identifying designer of "cube" like Directional Design chairs by Sedgefield  

I found a pair of these at a thrift store. Only one chair has a label and it says "Directional Design by Sedgefield", Sedgefield Furniture Company of Highpoint, NC. I think they are from the 1970's (possibly 1974 base on a text description from an ad in NYC) but there is no date on them. I've looked everywhere online and can find nothing like them. I'm wondering who designed them since I know Directional used many big name designers.
