I have been trying to identify this dining table for quite a while with no success. Here is everything I know about it:

I purchased it at an auction, where the wood species was identified as Honduran mahogany. The table was in very rough shape so I've recently had it refinished, and my refinisher identified the wood as rosewood -- and said the table in general is very well made. It has an inset brass band in the edge of the tabletop, and has long shaped brass sabots and brass connectors at the top of the legs. The legs are attached to the tabletop with very long brass hex bolts. The apron is very unusual and is shaped like a shelf. There is one butterfly leaf, and there are no markings at all, other than numbers used to keep track of the layout of the various pieces.

The table to my untrained eye appears to be more Art Deco than anything, and the use of rosewood and hex bolts makes me think it may be French -- but that's just a guess. If anyone has any ideas about the designer, manufacturer, or even country of origin, I'd love to hear them. Thanks so much.
