I bought this Cadovius-inspired modular wall unit from the original owner who purchased it in California (now located in rural Canada). Her husband was using it to "display his lighter collection" 🙂
I'm clueless about the designer/manufacturer. Does anybody have any ideas? The only other systems that I am familiar with are Cadovius and PS Randers and this isn't either.
All the pieces are stamped "made in Norway". The shelves are all made from teak veneered solid wood (pine?).
Unfortunately the system is a little worn (especially the desk unit) and there are some stains. But I didn't pay too much ($100) and I think that after I clean it up it will fit nicely in a bedroom, stains and all.
.
Just hang it and enjoy it.
Check e-bay once a week. You may eventually see yours.
Using key words i see 20-30 cado look-a-likes. A few much nicer
and many like yours that are just a step below in quality and condition.
IF you are looking for value and want to sell, shame on you and just say so.
But i just think you are curious.
An interested buyer can't afford Cado and looks for a bargain like yours.
And worth maybe a few hundred if someone is looking for just that.
The value in Cado is the abundance of cabinet and shelf styles. With a
base unit it can be added on as other pieces become available. Many were
made. They had a showroom in Manhattan. The generation that first bought
them is now retiring. Mine came from a NYC lawyer off to a sunny island
home.

Thanks Rockland for your thoughts and woofwoof for your ID suggestion.
I'm not a seller/dealer, just a curious beginner collector.
woofwoof - a google image search suggests that you are correct with your Bruksbo suggestion. I've attached photos of 2 different wall units that I found on a Bay area dealer's website that are all identified as Bruksbo. All 3 photos show the same unique (?) bracket design that runs the length of the underside of the shelves.
I see you also pointed another poster in this direction in this thread (again, same brackets):

Unfortunately my location seems to have virtually no midcentury/danish modern furniture available...at least not that I can find. So I'm pretty happy with anything I *can* find, including this less-than-perfect wall unit.
