I am new to this forum and Mccobb pieces in general. However, I found this piece and was hoping one with better knowledge might be able to help me identify whether this is truly Mccobb & what larger group names/terms I might be able to use to assist my search for similar/matching pieces. My main concern is the sliding front panels. I have not been able to find other verified Mccobb pieces with 4 panels like this one, they all seem to only have 2. Also, the color/material of these panels seems to be different from the other similar pieces I have found online. I appreciate any tips or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hard to see in this photo, but this is probably a set of two identical and nearly square cases (with two doors each) resting on a single Planner Group table. After all, one of the best things about McCobb cases is their "modularity".
I have seen single case versions with the two vertical doors also, but not with the natural wood sliding doors.
I have the low 5 foot long McCobb case with black painted wood sliding doors, so I am guessing that someone simply stripped the paint off of the black doors that were original on these. They also could have originally been covered with fabric.
Either way, they look great!
