I can help. If it is marked "Lovig dansk design" like other Lovig pieces i have seen, the confusion is people reading the word dansk as being the American company of the same name. The word dansk is simply the Danish word for Danish. So these stamps read Lovig Danish design. That I know of there is no connection between The companies Dansk and Lovig.
Very cool desk btw.
i saw
a couple of these desks attributed to Jens Quistgaard, but beyond this anecdotal evidence, I don't know for certain if this is his design.
As for the mark, yes it is marked "Lovig Dansk Design" and as you stated, thus definitely made in Denmark.
Anyone know when this design was manufactured or any better ideas on designer beyond my minimal research?
Finally - anyone have a matching key that I can buy 🙂
Peter Løvig Nielsen is...
Peter Løvig Nielsen is probably a better idea if you really want to pick an attribution out of thin air.
And you should either be able to get a stock skeleton key from a locksmith. The locksmith probably has a bunch. Just take the drawer in. Or, the locksmith can make a key if you happen to have an unusual skeleton key, as I did with my Kai Kristiansen kidney desk.
My answer to this question of who designed ths desk has been bugging me for a while now. I have realized that I was misinterpreting the mark on this desk, and all Løvig pieces.
The mark is saying that the desk was in fact designed by Peter Løvig-Nielsen. What is not said in the mark is the name of the company that produced the desk: Hedensted Møbelfabrik.
I feel better now.
Interesting information, Leif. Found a link, which shows a paper label for Hedensted mobelfabrik, with Peter Lovig-Nielsen as designer. Apologies ,in advance, for posting a link to a dealers website, but have been unable to download image.

Oh nice. That pretty well confirms a suspicion of mine that Peter Løvig-Nielsen was the owner of Hedensted Møbelfabrik. It was really the only assumption that would explain why the company would only put the designer's name on the mark.
Here is the Hedensted Møbelfabrik tag you found:
