Hey guys, so earlier today I picked this up from a nice girl in Boston. It was only 60$ so even if it was a replica or something...who cares right? I usually don't jump on replicas, but for 60 dollars...this chair labeled as a "Zero Gravity Chair" (haha) is a steal.
So I brought it home, and cleaned some of the surface rust off of it with aluminum and diet coke from a video I watched on You-Tube. As the hours went on I became more and more convinced maybe it isn't a replica. The girl said it was older then 20 years, but wasn't sure, and I found a label on the underside that said it was property if BIC, yes Bic like lighter/pen company. They have a large lobby and have a bunch of nice furnishings there in the entrance (mostly modern) so this makes sense.
The leather pad is defiantly real leather and all of the button straps have the words FIOCCHI ITALY with stars stamped into them. The pillow wasn't part of the sale and she said she never saw a pillow at all, so yeah there isnt one. Also there isnt straps under the leather top its more like wire? so its hard to tell what version this could be if it is one at all.
Anyway here is a few pictures tell me what you think...

In comparing your photos to photos of the real thing on the DWR site, I see a number of differences. The legs on yours look like they have a large hex screw near the top; real chair has 3 small black carriage bolts or whatever they're called. The is also no strap holding the cushion to the frame at the midpoint. The feet have a different shape, too. Those are the main differences that stand out.
Finocchi snaps are and were used on all kinds of things so that's not a definite ID, either. But it does look like a better quality knockoff, if it's a knockoff!
I don't know enough about these to say for sure either way, just pointing out a few differences.

There's one on 1stDibs right now listed as "Italian Vintage LC4 Lounge" that looks pretty much just like yours as far as I can tell. It's marked simply "Italy" according to the seller, so is probably an older knockoff. For $60 you got a good deal. Just keep in mind that 1stDibs prices are not an indicator of general market value.
