I picked up this smoked glass scandiavian decanter/ vase today. it reminds me of design aspects of the kremlin balls by kaj franck.

I am not very strong in identifying glass besides patterns by iittala but had a strong feeling this was finnish

it measures just over 7.5 inch tall. There is i guess what you would call incursions in the glass (few big air bubbles and a lot of really small ones as well as horizontal lines as if from tooling

i strongly believe there is a initialed signature on the bottom that resembles KF

thoughts? and what time frame would this be from? late 50 or 60's?

I don't have any of his glass. But I don't think this is by him. 1. I don't see a KJ anywhere in your picture - just random scratches 2. He didn't sign his pieces KJ anyway as far as I can tell - he used his whole name 3. it doesn't look like his other signed work you can find online.

its hard to make out in the photo as i had a hard time taking a picture of it with m phone but in person it def. looks like a marking and not scratches
from my understanding, could be entirely wrong but it was the maker of the glass piece that signed kaj franck name so there are variances in markings. i cant seem to find it now but i had a link pulled up showing a kaj franck soap bubble with the same marking on the bottom.

Kaj Franck usually signed his name with the company name and date. His glass pieces are lightweight and very thin too. The glass wall on your piece looks thick. I'm editing this post because I notice the base of your carafe. I never seen any that are elevated like the one you have.
Timo Sarpaneva initialed some of his glass pieces. Maybe your mixing up the two?
