I've been interested in pottery lately, and really love the mid-century Italian pieces. I bought this pair at a vintage shop yesterday at a reasonable price, not knowing what to find underneath the cloth that was tightly glued to the bottom of them for decades. The store owner didn't know either, and suggested they were made by a local artist. He was wrong. When I got home I peeled off the cloth and found the "Italy 7475" underneath the vase. I have to remove lots of glue goo yet to see the marking on the the bottom of the bowl. I just haven't found anything like these in my searches. These are bigger pieces with some weight. The vase measures an impressive 14" tall, and the bowl is 14" across. Any thoughts or info on them would be appreciated! So many thanks!
