I feel like I've seen this chair before but I haven't been able to find it again after many searches on google and 1stdibs. This is the only picture I have of it at the moment. If anyone could lend me hand, it would be greatly appreciated as always. Thanks a lot!

I found it in Furniture Forum...
I found it in Furniture Forum vol 14. Says it's an Arthur Umanoff design obviously inspired by the kangaroo chair.

Madison Industries Catalog?
MCManiac where did you get that catalog? I am a huge Umanoff fan and would love to see what other designs of his are in there. If you can take photos that would be amazing!

Perhaps not the most beautiful chair to start with,
but whoever put that vinyl on it needs a new box of crayons.

Hey, Umanoff fan
fwiw, this is a page of the catalog from a 1953 Akron Art Institute show called "Young Designers." I don't know that it's very important, but then again, it isn't easy to find. (I offered my extra copy to the Akron Art Museum. They weren't very interested.)

Shame on them.
Their loss I guess. I would love to have such an interesting piece.

AMAZING!
This is fantastic. A few Umanoff designs in here I have never seen before (for example that amazing nesting coffee table). Thank you so much for posting this. Umanoff is my absolute favorite so its great to see alot of his unknown / lesser known work as well. Keep em coming if you got them!

jesgord
Are those all Umanoff designs, or just the top half?

all Umanoff
Jesgord, those are all Umanoff designs. I have one of those nesting tables and have seen alot of those side table / magazine racks come up. Definitely Umanoff. I had never seen the stuff on the top page however.
