This came from around 1958-1960 or so - frame is scandinavian white oak, top is plywood with black formica on one side, teak or walnut-looking veneer on the other.
Any clues?
It is not white....
Scandinavian oak but Polish oak, but that's a detail...The table is obviously made in Sweden and considering that not that many Swedish furniture companies exported around that time (at least not compared to Denmark or even Finland) I think that the best indication of its origin is where it is now. Could you tell us more about that?

My mistake on the grain - it looked a lot like Sc. white oak I've handled in the past.
Uh, let's see...
The first I'm aware of its existence is in my parents' house in Illinois around 1960, a house they built in 1959. I don't see it in pictures of their previous house, so I assume it was part of the stuff they bought for their new house at that time. They also had a Saarinen grasshopper chair from about 1949, a Noguchi Akari floor lamp, and a DCM (all gone, *sniffle*).
Could be a no-namo table just used as an accessory, but it's really a neat little item, and I have also seen a very similar table on e-bay, but with a more rounded-triangular upholstered top than this one. Funny - before I cleaned it, everyone thought the legs were teak because they were SO nicotine-stained!
