After many-a-hour searching through forums and google images. I am at a loss of the origin of these two Pearsall / Flexsteel Style Gondola Sofas. Oddly enough, I stumbled up 2 matching sofas. Both originally had black lacquer over wood frame. This style measures 9 feet wide with three removable cushions. Looks like it may be in one of the Flexsteel Lines. The yellow example in the photos had been previously reupholstered. The purple sofa does display original upholstery that was pretty high end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Craft Associates used rubber strapping for seat supports, while Flexsteel had their own patented system. (A single unit with flat steel bands attached to a metal frame.) My guess would be your sofas use either coil or "no sag" springs, which would point to a different, most likely American manufacturer. Also, there is some kind of antique-y vibe about your sofas. Like the manufacturer wanted something modern looking, but not so modern that it would alienate their conservative customer base. Flexsteel seemed to go all in aping Pearsall designs.
Your ebay listing doesn't seem to express any doubt that the sofas are Pesrsall, so I could be wrong.
These sofas don't look like Pearsall at all to me. They look like quite possibly better quality than Pearsall, and yes, good point about edging towards modern styling without offending traditional tastes!
I would like to know why you think the purple one has high end upholstery---can't tell much from the photos.
You should be able to ID the type of springs easily enough on the purple one. Flexsteel springs don't look like anything else so that would be a clincher if you have those...but this also doesn't look like any Flexsteel sofa I've seen. (Not that that means a whole lot.)
