I've enjoyed the info I've read on this forum. The knowledge you all share is quite impressive. Well my lurking days are over and I need to jump in. I just started collecting about 6 months ago and must say it's become borderline obsession.
Anyway, I acquired these two tables and was wondering if any of you could ID them. They are a matching set and was told they were acquired at an Indiana estate that had a tremendous amount of Dunbar and Widdicomb furniture. I can't find a marking except the stamps on the bottom saying they were
"inspected by B.A. Lawson" and "575331/2-88 LOT 317"
Any help would we appreciated! Thanks all!
I had thought Conant Ball...
I had thought Conant Ball was an option. But I thought their stuff was branded with the Conant ball Logo. I didn't realize they did stuff with the square leg and metal footing details. But that just goes to show, designers don't alway follow their usual form!
BTW, do you have any more info regarding these tables? Who designed them? They don't look like Russel Wright. Are you sure they are Conant Ball, as I can't seem to locate anything from them that would depict this style of design.
Thanks for the help!
I spoke with someone today...
I spoke with someone today who said these tables looked like they were from mccobb at Calvin. But I don't believe that to be the case as I've seen nothing from that line with the metal capped feet. Nor do these tables have the leather tops.
Any other suggestions? I've been unable to locate any info about these in reference to the aforementioned Conant Ball diagnosis. Thanks again!
