Help ID designer/manufacturer of this wall mount coat rack  

It looks really French
so you might try googling "porte manteau mural" or "porte manteau teck" etc. To my eye, it looks newer, like 80's and beyond and something we find in Europe on lots of hotel room walls.

Yes, I think they are relatively common, having seen one in a modern office too.
Just not sure where to find one to buy.
I came across a couple a long time ago in a mid century store, some were laminate, some were solid wood as I recall, but they are long gone by now.
