Hi all,
Just came across this bertoia barstool, and I had some questions about it's authenticity since the mounts are different from the ones Ive bought before.
Are these just an earlier generation of mounts?
Furthermore are the welds of the seat underneath, but after doing some research on this forum this does not mean they aren't authentic, wright.
The rest of the stool looks good.
Any help would be welcome
Michel

Is everybody happy with the top two cross-bars to the back ?
Compare here: http://hivemodern.com/pages/product475/knoll-harry-bertoia-barstool-with...
Not brackets, but the top cross-wires inside the perimeter wire. They should be roughly parallel to the perimeter wire -- which would be called the crest rail on a traditional chair. Compare to Knoll photo. I don't believe the new shape would be the result of a "ding."
I am not a Bertoia expert -- I'm just going by what I see. Perhaps the production standard wavered during a certain period; what do I know !
Best wishes SDR
