I have always thought that this chair was designed by Grete Jalk but now I have seen some images online claiming the chair to be designed by Finn Juhl. A seed of doubt has now sprouted in my mind, can anyone settle this?

Is this the basic form? It... Is this the basic form? It is listed for Jalk at http://kunstindustrimuseet.dk/furnitureindex/ There were several other very similar chairs by Jalk. I did not see one with upholstered arms.

Thanks TCHP,
Yes that...
Thanks TCHP,
Yes that chair is definetly by Jalk, my chair has exactly the same frame until you get to the arms where instead of the characteristic sweeping whale bone arm it has a simple straight piece of timber that the upholstered section sits upon. My chair is produced by France & Son.
I am 99 percent sure it is by Jalk but as I said I had seen a couple of different sources on the net describing them as Juhl.
I searched through the index before I started this thread but I didn`t find a match by either Jalk or Juhl.

I did not find that chair by Jalk initially, until I did a search for "Easy Chairs" with Jalk as the designer.

ohhh your all wrong!
The chair is model 168 and produced by France and son.
where the confusion comes in is that grete jalk designed a similar chair which is produced by P Jeppesen.
The 2 next to each other are all but identical for the slightly different ending to the arms meeting with the back leg.
The Model 168 AND the more commonly know 128 are both factory own designs commissioned by James France.
Where do I gleam this info??
I have the great pleasure to meet with James france who is now in his 80s but still very much promting the spirit of France & Son

Danish Auction house 'Lauritz' lists this model as the 'Grand Danois' Danish auction house Lauritz deals in more Finn Juhl than almost anyone else, and they always list this model as the 'Grand Danois' model 167 by Finn Juhl. Have a lot at their sale records at www.lauritz.com

I have seen Lauritz make mistakes when identifying items before.
I am confident that the chair is an in house France & Son design.

Lauritz!!!!
Are just a bunch of amateurs who have their own interest at heart and use a system whi is set up so that once a mistake is made there is no reason to re-examine it to see if it is right.
They simply use the same discription over and over!!!
And are getting VERY good at misrepresentation in both pictures and words!!

Do you have any good first...
Do you have any good first hand examples of a Lauritz photo misrepresentation (theirs vs yours after buying/viewing)? I have noticed that their photos are indeed very complimentary of the pieces, but have never seen any firsthand to provide a reference point.
I tend to pay less attention to any written descriptions from auction houses, and instead do my own research from the available photos.

Well where to start
A pair of jalk chairs as above had been pictured in a very flattering manner and showing all sides BUT not the side on one chair which had been split and bodge repaired with screws, which the discription made no mention of. When i pointed this out to them in aarhus, they did nothing and the listing finished with no comments made.
4 wishbone chairs which i rang kolding about were discribed as in great condition with no broken cords.
No mention of the teeth marks from the dog that had chewed them to fuck!!! Immiddiately relisted and still no mention of the dog chewing!!!!
Jacobsen egg chair which i had shipped as a urgent job for a client turned up with the colar broken and badly hidden by placing the fritz hansen sticker over the cracked collar. When i complained they simply said sent it back to us but at your own expense!!
They basically dont give a shit!
I could go on but wont as they bring such a bad name to the auction world!!!

And what about chair 127 (the high back chair with wood arms) and coffee table 622 (the floating top coffee table)?
