Architonic also mentioned the same number originally only in rosewood like in Oda's book. I hope Oda responds to my inquiry in English...

Placitas, I take it you're in or near eastern MA. If you should decide to pack and ship your treasure, I can help either personally or with referrals to the best in the biz in the greater Boston area.
And thank you for posting. I haven't seen so much excitement around here since Grendel_The_Cat posted a pic of herself shouldering an AR-15.

I've been doing some research, and I almost have enough to put a theory on the table. Almost.
But first, Placitas, it is likely that one of the receipts you have actually has this Chieftain chair on it, just not in the way that it is meant to be recognized. For me this would confirm the theory. So when you can dig into your mother's files, I would be very curious to see all the danish furniture receipts. And do cut pieces of paper to hide your grandmother's name and street address, but I do need to see the ship-to country (USA I assume).
And if this confirms what I think it will, then I promise I will stop being mysterious and explain myself.

The chair was shipped directly to the US, according to Bruun-Rasmussen 'Denmark' is the export mark and it is not altogether unusual that the earlier versions of the chieftain chairs were not marked? Of course everything depends on that receipt but we are fairly certain we know where it is,
You will be the first to see a photo of the redacted receipt! I will ask my mother to photograph any others as well. All of our remaining pieces are somewhat prosaic - buffets and credenzas and few Arne Vodder teak and black leather dining chairs. All of the unusual lighting and glass went to the other side of the family.

Leif, is there a direct contact I can reach you at? The email address I thought I still had for you turned out to be Carl's.

I am surprised by that response from Bruun-Rasmussen, as I can not bring to mind ever seeing an auction or listing for a Niels Vodder piece that said it was unmarked or ever showed a a "Denmark" stamp. And I've looked at a lot of Bruun-Rasmussen auctions.

Placitas: I've done more research, and the ship to city/state as well as country is going to be necessary information. I don't believe anyone can de-anonymize you with that additional information. (And they already can guess that your grandmother built a house in the Saint Louis area.)

My mother kept a journal of this trip and she's planning to locate it and share her impressions of 1955 Denmark. She was pretty young, so it may focus on things like cuisine and the boat trip there and back.

cdsilva,
I think this may be the lounge chair paired with the ottoman in your post: https://live.bruun-rasmussen.dk/m/lots/5925AFB594D7?q=finn+juhl

Placitas,
This is a sharper view of the image in the photo cdsilva posted. It is a rare chair that might not have been produced. Noritsuga Oda, a prominent collector in Japan, has a prototype sofa that matches it, and was also never produced. The chair has similar lines to the one you posted, but not the same. The chair in Finn Juhl's house also does not stylistically match the ottoman pictured with it, so they were also not meant to be a set.
